Australian agriculture - learning from the past and planning for the future

In addition to the many speakers addressing Australian issues within the 4th International Crop Science Congress (4ICSC) program, the 12AAC will host a special session on Australian Agriculture on the afternoon of Thursday 30 September 2004. This session will include a plenary presentation of the Donald Medal and Oration, followed by concurrent sessions which will each address aspects of the topic “Australian Agriculture - Learning From The Past And Planning For The Future”. The concurrent sessions will cover the issues:

  1. Pathways to efficient and profitable agriculture
  2. Farming and land stewardship
  3. The benefits and challenges of crop-livestock integration in Australian agriculture
  4. The imperatives for research implementation and delivery in Australia

Lead speakers will be invited to introduce each of these topics. Each session will also include four speakers to be selected from those who contribute poster papers to the 4ICSC. I therefore encourage Australian scientists to submit poster papers highlighting Australian agricultural research to the 4ICSC. Poster submissions close 27th February 2004.
