For many, working with multiple natural resource management (NRM) stakeholders can be like trying to move a wheelbarrow full of frogs along a bumpy path. Moving forward ‘together’ is certainly a challenge.

This symposium looked at new ideas and identifies effective processes and solutions for stakeholder engagement. It addressed the challenges of engagement, which require practitioners to have the presence of mind, flexibility, and confidence to tackle complex situations.

We were privileged at this symposium to have had extension specialists, Janice Jiggins and Niels Röling, from Wageningen University in The Netherlands, presenting information from the international perspective.

On behalf of the symposium organising committee, I would like to thank people for their presentations to this interesting and throught provoking event on the NRM calendar.
