Welcome

It is a great pleasure to welcome you all to Sydney, Australia, for SuperSoil 2004. This is the 3^rd Australian/New Zealand Soils Conference and offers a wide and diverse program for delegates. It features the annual 'Management of Soil Salinity Symposium' hosted by the University of Sydney, four mid-conference field trips, important professional awards and society meetings and a range of social activities culminating in the conference dinner aboard Captain Cook III, cruising on Sydney Harbour. The technical program includes six outstanding keynote speakers and almost 300 oral and poster presentations in 16 symposia. The conference presents participants with a rare, but great, opportunity to catch up with the latest technical developments in soil science and with colleagues from Australia, New Zealand and a number of other countries. It is your conference, and I encourage you to take full advantage of the wonderful opportunities that it presents to you.
