Karolee Wolcott

Karolee and her family immigrated to Australia in 1974. Since then they have owned and operated:

1975 - 1981 a 720 hectare mixed farming property in Bingara, New South Wales;

1982 – 1992 a 10,500 hectare medium wool, sheep station in Richmond, Queensland;

1992 – 2001 a 750 hectare fine wool merino and prime lamb farm near Hamilton, Victoria, and

2001 - we are now starting a new adventure on the mid-north coast of New South Wales - in a little village called South West Rocks – a beautiful spot just north of Port Macquarie.

In my new position as the AWiA Representative for New South Wales, I would like to:

• Continue to expand AWiA’s influence at the local, state and federal levels;
• provide impetus for the newly created Reference Groups within New South Wales;
• inform our members of the important links we can forge at the international level:
• as a member of the Host Committee for the “III World Congress on Rural Women” to be held in Madrid Spain in 2002, I will work towards a very successful Congress for all Australian women in agriculture;
• by sharing my impressions from the UN Beijing +5 Sessions in New York last year; and the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Women Leaders’ Network Meetings in New Zealand and Brunei Darussalam in 1999 and 2000
